Visual Portfolio 3.0, released in October 2023, changed the skin templates and the control names. This note is for sites upgrading from 2.x.
What migrated on its own
Galleries were merged with the new settings the first time the page was re-saved. Saved Layouts were migrated as well.
What had to be changed by hand
Custom styles written against the old caption classes had to be rewritten against the new ones.
Third-party skins that used the old builtin_controls keys had to be updated to the new keys. Fallbacks for the old keys still exist, so an old skin keeps working.
