Sort options
The options offered are fixed:

| Default sorting | The block’s Order By and Order Direction |
| Sort by date (newest) | Publish date, newest first (upload date for Media) |
| Sort by date (oldest) | Publish date, oldest first |
| Sort by title (A-Z) | Title, ascending |
| Sort by title (Z-A) | Title, descending |
The selection travels in the vp_sort parameter and overrides the block’s order for that visitor. Developers can change the list with the vpf_extend_sort_items filter.
Standalone sort
[visual_portfolio_sort id="123" type="dropdown" align="center"] prints the sort of Saved Layout 123 anywhere on the page. See Saved Layouts and Shortcodes.
